SUSAN HARRIS in the WASHINGTON, D.C. Area, USDA Zone 7A

SITE:        Sustainable-Gardening contains:

                 -  Eco-friendly gardening that's also

                    gardener-friendly. That means telling

                    you what works.
                  - Plants I've known and (mostly) loved

                  - All the basics - like design, compost,

and fertilizers - from the best current

                    thinking on each topic,

                  - Eco-friendly lawn care, and how to go

                    lawnless

                  - My favorite tools
                  - Links to other great online sources on

each subject, especially articles in my favorite gardening blogs.

BLOGS:      Sustainable Gardening Blog carries stories about plants and the

growing them in our gardens for beauty and - new for me this year -

food.  And it's my personal blog, so I occasionally venture off-topic.

GardenRant is the rowdy, award-winning team blog that I write with Amy

Stewart, Michele Owens, and Elizabeth Licata.

NEWS:        Monthly Sustainable Gardening News contains:

                  - What's new in environmental issues affecting our landscapes.

                  - Hot topics on the blogs.

                  - What's new on Sustainable-Gardening.com.

                  - What's new in my garden,

PRINT:         The "Gardening Coach" column is carried by two Maryland

                    newspapers.

VIDEO:        Here's my 10-part video about creating and maintaining a sustainable

                    garden.

WORK:        The Gardening Coach is the name of my service, teaching people to

garden one on one in their gardens and gardens-to-be.

ACTION:      I co-founded DC Urban Gardeners and now I write their website and

co-write their News Blog, with the

                    mission of bringing environmentally

                    responsible gardening information to

                    the public, fostering school gardens,

                    community gardens, and more.

GARDEN:     It's a rowdy mix of sustainable plants,
                     with mixed borders of shrubs,
                     perennials and bulbs, a woodland
                     garden, and a small kitchen
garden.  It's also a Certified Wildlife
Habitat.  Help yourself to a garden
                     tour.
